Auger subdues Cats

Behind the goaltending of Sebastien  Auger, the Saint John Seadogs doubled up the Moncton Wildcats 4-2 Friday night at Harbour Station.

Auger stopped 44 of 46 to lead the Dogs to their 5th win of season versus Moncton.  Cole Holowenko suffers the loss, as Saint John scored  3 goals on 11 shots for a 3-1 lead early in the 2nd and relied on Auger the rest of the way. Alex Dubeau, relieved Holowenko, stopped 12 of 13.

Yannick Veilleux and Alex Saulnier scored for the Wildcats. Saulnier reaches the 250 point plateau with the marker. He’s only the 4th player in Wildcat’s history to accomplish the feat.

Jakub Izacky, Connor Donaghey, Maxime Villemaire and Noah Zilbert replied for the Seadogs. who snapped a 5 game home losing streak.

Final Shots 46-24. Powerplay  Moncton 1-5 , Saint John 1-4. Attendance 4,056.

Wildcats are back on the road Saturday when they meet the Mooseheads in Halifax.
