Rimouski takes game three over Moncton

The Wildcats were back on home ice tonight for game three of the first round playoff series versus the Rimouski Océanic. The first two road games were a split with Moncton winning game one 4-1, and Rimouski taking game two in overtime 2-1. After a late suspension following game two, Wildcats defenceman Jonathan Aspirot was out of the lineup tonight.

Rimouski was on the board early at the five minute mark and continued to roll from that point, scoring five in a row. Anthony Gagnon scored twice tonight for the visitors as well as Alexis Lafrenière, and adding singles were Samuel Dove-McFalls and Mathieu Nadeau. It was not until the third that Moncton was able to net one past Colten Ellis on a goal by Simon Le Coultre at 9:16. A few minutes later the Cats would add another on the power play courtesy of Anderson MacDonald. Moncton were staring to gain some life, but just a little too late in the game. Final score tonight would go in the books as a 6-2 victory for Rimouski.

The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. for game four. Moncton, we need your support to come cheer on the team, get your tickets at the Coliseum Box Office – 857-4100 or online at
