The Moncton Wildcats and SMG announce agreement for new Events Centre!

 

MONCTON N.B. – The Moncton Wildcats and SMG are pleased to announce an agreement has been reached making the Wildcats the major tenant in Moncton’s new Events Centre. The Wildcats will move into their new home in time for the 2018-2019 season.

“We’re pleased to have reached a long-term agreement with SMG and look forward to our ongoing partnership,” said Robert K. Irving, President of the Moncton Wildcats. “The new Events Centre will be one of the top facilities in the Canadian Hockey League and great place for fans to watch hockey.”

“The Wildcats are part of the fabric of the Moncton community and we are very much looking forward to our partnership and the success it will bring to the new Events Centre,” said Harry Cann, SMG Regional Vice President.

The facility will provide fans with new benefits and an increased level of in-game experiences with a state-of-the-art LED scoreboard, an engineered audio system, corporate suites, a club seat section with a lounge and a large, 360-degree concourse.

The building will also feature improved fan amenities with wider seats, more leg room, more washrooms and concession kiosks, as well as more than double the amount of accessible seating as the Coliseum.

“We are very happy to see that an agreement has been reached between the Wildcats and SMG,” stated Mayor Dawn Arnold. “Both are key partners in ensuring the Events Centre’s success. Having the Wildcats play in our new downtown venue will provide a unique experience for current and new fans who love hockey. The facility is a game-changer for Moncton and we are pleased that the Wildcats are making it their home.”
