Top Ranked Prospect in the 2017 Q Draft: Alexis Lafreniere

The top ranked player on this year’s list is 15-year-old Alexis Lafreniere. The Quebec born player has showed nothing but pure dominance on the ice over the past few years, and his skills are unmatched, making him the clear number one prospect that all teams have their eye o.n

This past season he played with the Saint-Eustache Vikings of the QMAAA and was a scoring machine, showing pure dominance. This season he played in 36 games recording 33 goals and 50 assists for an impressive total of 83 points, an average of over two points per game.

He walked away with most of the league titles this year in the QMAAA: most goals, most assists and most points. This was the same story in his previous year of hockey in the QBAAA league, also taking home awards for most goals, most assists and most points.

Lafreniere’s is an exceptional player that is a scoring threat every time he is on the ice. He has great hands and can make quick and very smart decisions. His hockey sense, vision and offensive ability are unmatched in Midget AAA. He is exceptionally talented and there is no doubt that Alexis is a franchise altering player as he enters the QMJHL.
