Wildcats come up big in 8-1 win over Bathurst

The Moncton Wildcats were on the road facing last year’s President Cup Champions, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Sunday. After a close match on Friday night at the Avenir Centre against the Armada, the team was looing to add another two points in the win column.

Moncton came out of the gate flying, scoring five goals in the first period, all within a six minute stretch to give the team a commanding lead early on. For Pataki, Aspirot and Tucker, it was their first goals of the season.

In the second the Wildcats limited the Titan’s scoring to one, but quickly responded with a goal from Pelletier to regain their five goal lead. The team would add two more goals in the third by Alexander Khovanov and Nicolas Kingsbury-Fournier to make the final 8-1.

Charles-Antoine Lavalée register his fist win in the QMJHL with a 21 save performance, and Kingsbury-Fournier scored his first Q goal during the game.
