On Saturday June 2nd the team added 17 new prospects to the Wildcats organization, 11 forwards, four defencemen and two goaltenders.  With our new area in Downtown Moncton opening this fall, Wildcat fans have a lot to look forward to on the ice this year, and we are excited about our newest additions that we have acquired.

The Wildcats were once again on stage early this year with a first round pick. In the 18th overall spot, Moncton selected 16-year-old forward Elliot Desnoyers, from the Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois of the QMAAA. One of the top point producers on his team this past season he recorded 36 points in 40 games played (10 goals, 26 assists).

During the second round your Wildcats had two more early selections, picking 20th and 27th overall. In the 20th spot the team drafted Prince Edward Island native Jordan Spence. The 17-year-old 5’10”, 161 lb defenceman is an offensive d-man, this season with the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) Jordan notched more than a point per game in the regular season with 52 points in 50 games played.

Nicolas Kingsbury-Fournier was Moncton’s third pick, 27th overall, marking the team’s second forward. Born in Blainville QC, the 6’0” 173 lb winger played this past season in the QMAAA with the Collège Esther-Blondin Phénix, posting 21 points in 37 games played.

The team took an opportunity early to grab a top goaltender in Charles-Antoine Lavallée in the fourth round. This season with the Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois, Charles-Antoine played in 20 games, coming away with a 2.49 GAA and a 0.914 save percentage. At 16-years-old Charles-Antoine is 6’1” and 194 lbs.
