Wildcats top Moose 3-2!

Division rivals Halifax Mooseheads made their final regular season trip to the Avenir Centre Saturday night. The Wildcats came out on top with a 3-2 win. It was another important game for the Wildcats with playoff positions still underdetermined and only five games remaining in the regular season.

A strong first period saw the Wildcats come away with two power play goals. Jakob Pelletier, got his 38th of the season, assisted by Jeremy McKenna and Mika Cyr at 6:55 of the 1st. Then at 12:52 Jacob Hudson netted his 11th of the year. Aleksi Anttalainen and Adam Capannelli came away with the assists. The Mooseheads responded with a goal of their own by Asselin with just 40 seconds left in the period. The Wildcats took back their two goal lead at 7:23 of the 2nd period with Jordan Spence’s 6th goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Brady Pataki and Jacob Hudson. The Mooseheads cut the Wildcats lead to one goal in the third but that was as close as they would come. Francis Leclerc had a strong game with 30 saves in the win.

The Wildcats have only two home games remaining in the regular season, both are against their New Brunswick rivals! Sunday March 10th they will face off against Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Puck drop is at 4:00 pm. The final home game of the regular season is next Saturday March 16th at 4:00 pm against the Saint John Sea Dogs.
