Cats clinch home ice for Round 1 of playoffs

The Wildcats won a key road game in Bathurst 5-2 to lock down home ice advantage in the first round of the QMJHL playoffs opening next week. But their opponent has yet to be determined.

In the Friday night victory over the Titan, the Cats had 43 shots and were led by 3rd Star Yoan Loshing (30th) and Vincent Labelle (27th) with each adding an assist. Other Cats marksmen were Thomas Auger (11th), Alex Mercier (12th), and Alexis Daniel (13th). Vincent Filion backstopped the win with 16 saves.

The Q regular season winds up Saturday afternoon  with all 1st Round playoff matchups still to be finalized.

The Annual ‘Fan Appreciation Day’ game is 4pm Saturday at Avenir Centre against the Cape Breton Eagles.  The Wildcats will also pay tribute to veterans Vincent Labelle, Charles Beaudoin and Anthony Hamel, who are all entering their final playoff run.
