Cats-Dogs at the Den Saturday night

The Sea Dogs come to WildTown for Saturday night hockey!

It’s Timbits Weekend at the Avenir Centre — so there will be lots of extra energy in the building. It’s a great time to gather the group (call Shawn at 506-382-5555 for best pricing) or take advantage of our Pal Airlines Family 4-Pack savings.

The Wildcats are coming off a home loss so an archrival in the Den may be exactly what’s needed to regain focus — plus Étienne Morin (15G, 30A) returns from his stint out west at the Top Prospects game.

Vincent Labelle (15G, 29A) has been the hottest Wildcat lately, with 6 points (4G, 2A) in the last 3 games. The fleet-footed centre sits 1 point behind Morin for the team scoring lead. Max Barbashev leads the way in goals with 22.

Moncton centreman Connor Trenholm will face his former team for the first time in Wildcats’ colours. Trenholm has 4 points (3G, 1A) in 8 games since being acquired during the holiday trade period.

The Sea Dogs may be low in the standings but they come to play every night. They put up 7 goals against Halifax last weekend in a battle that was decided late — an eventual 10-7 Mooseheads win. Saint John is led by a couple of 20 year-old, 5-year veterans — forward Brady Burns (23G, 21A) and defenceman Charlie Desroches (5G, 14A).

One player to watch for the Sea Dogs is 17 year-old Moncton native Jérémie Richard. The rookie defender was a member of the Telus Cup Champion Moncton Flyers last season and played his minor hockey with the Lewisville Lightning.
