Cats get back to winning ways, snap 3-game slide

The Wildcats put together a strong road win in Sydney on a stormy Friday night topping the Cape Breton Eagles 5-3 at Center 200 to end a 3-game losing streak.

It was a high-scoring first period with Moncton emerging with a 3-2 lead on a pair of goals from Vincent Labelle (13th, 14th) and Jonas Taibel (3rd).

First Star Etienne Morin drilled home his 15th of the season for the powerplay winner midway through the third period and Alexis Daniel (11th) hit the empty net with 1:01 remaining to elevate the Wildcats record to 22-17-0-2.

Charles Beaudoin and Oscar Plandowski each contributed two assists. Jacob Steinman recorded the win with 22 saves, the Wildcats fired 20 shots at Oliver Satny.

The Wildcats return to Avenir Center Sunday afternoon against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens at 4pm.
