Cats let one get away as Isles rally

The Charlottetown Islanders ended a 5-game losing streak in dramatic style defeating the Moncton Wildcats 5-3 at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown on Wednesday night.

The Wildcats owned a 3-1 first period lead on powerplay markers from Yoan Loshing (18th) & Vincent Labelle (12th). Gabe Smith also potted his 3rd of the season to open scoring.

The Islanders bounced back with three second period goals to take a 4-3 lead after forty minutes. Charlottetown added an empty netter with 42-seconds remaining to seal the victory.

The Cats kept Jakob Robillard busy with 35 shots, the Isles directed 23 at Vincent Filion.

The Wildcats look to snap a 3-game losing streak Friday night in Cape Breton against the Eagles at 7pm at Centre 200. Next home ice action will be Sunday, January 22nd, at 4 pm at Avenir Centre with the Wildcats hosting the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
