Huskies in WildTown Friday, Cats looking for revenge

The Wildcats will be looking for a bit of revenge Friday night when they take on the Huskies for the second time in 8 days. Last Friday, the Cats dropped a 3-2 nail-biter in Rouyn-Noranda. Moncton fired 34 shots at former Wildcat G Thomas Couture but only managed 2 goals — 38 seconds apart very early in period 2.

The Huskies sit 6th overall and are coming into WildTown off a win over the Cats and a shootout loss to the Islanders last weekend. Forward Daniil Bourash leads the Huskies charge with 16 goals and Tristan Allard spreads the puck around with 20 assists. Moncton’s own Dyllan Gill (4G, 16A) is the star of the Huskies defence. Gill is 2022 7th Rd draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Huskies also feature another Moncton product on the blue line, Coen Strang.

The 7th place Wildcats finished last weekend’s road trip with a win and look to carry that momentum into Friday night. The top squads in the QMJHL are starting to separate themselves from the mid-pack teams so the Cats need to keep pace with another string of wins. Yoan Loshing (13G, 15A) & Vincent Labelle (7G, 18A) consistently lead the way up front and the net duo of Vincent Filion & Jacob Steinman give the Wildcats a chance to win every night.
