Huskies shut down Wildcats on Avenir Centre ice

The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies held Moncton shooters to only 15 shots and scored a pair of third-period goals to down the hometown Wildcats 4-2 before 4300 fans at Avenir Center on Friday night.
The Wildcats held a 2-1 second period lead on goals by Etienne Morin, his 8th, and Jonas Taibel, his 2nd of the season. Cats goaltender Jacob Steinman was selected First Star with 24 saves – including a highlight-reel glove save off Louis-Philippe Fontaine.

Missing from the Moncton lineup with injuries were Charles Beaudoin, Thomas Auger and Natan Grenier. The Wildcats are 11-10-0-1 on the season and look forward to hosting the Maritime Division-leading Halifax Mooseheads Sunday afternoon at 4pm.
The Wildcats will be in Saturday’s Santa Claus Parade in Downtown Moncton. The Annual Teddy Bear Toss will unfold at Sunday’s game, followed by the Annual Skate with the Cats for season seat members.
