Sea Dogs tame Cats on Timbits Weekend

The Saint John Sea Dogs recorded their first win over the Wildcats this season, taking out the Cats 7-3 before 6,800 fans at Avenir Centre.

The Wildcats played catch-up all evening, trailing 2-0 after the first period and 4-1 after the second. Moncton markers to Thomas Auger (9th), Yoan Loshing (20th) with a shorthanded effort, and Miles Muller (8th).

Sea Dogs netminder Olivier Brideau notched his first win of the season with a strong 32-save outing, Vincent Fillion took the loss for Moncton with 25 stops.

The Wildcats look to stop the slide Sunday at 4 pm at Avenir Centre against the Cape Breton Eagles. The annual Timbit Hockey weekend continues with a large crowd expected.

The Cats move into Quebec next week for a 3-game trip with contests in Gatineau, Victoriaville and Quebec City. Overall, the Wildcats’ record moves to 22-19-0-2.
