Wildcats lose close one to Olympiques

Moncton’s Jacob Steinman and Gatineau’s Frankie Lapenna were both outstanding as the Cats were nipped 3-2 by the hometown Olympiques before 4,000 fans at the Centre Slush Puppie in Gatineau on Wednesday night.

Both netminders were dazzling — Steinman 35 saves and Lapenna 33 stops.

For the Wildcats, who have now dropped four straight contests, goals to Nathan Grenier (3rd) and Vincent Labelle (19th) with a late third period powerplay marker.

The road trip continues in Victoriaville Friday night against the Tigres at 8 pm. On Saturday, the Cats visit the Remparts in Québec City with a 4 pm matchup at Centre Vidéotron.
