Wildcats’ playoff run ends with Sunday loss in Halifax

The Wildcats 27th QMJHL season ended Sunday in Halifax as the Mooseheads tamed the Cats 7-3 before 8.700 fans at Scotiabank Centre to take the Gilles-Courteau Trophy quarter-final series 4 games to 1.

QMJHL scoring champion Jordan Dumais had a hot hand with 2 goals & 2 assists to lead the Moose. Wildcats goals were scored by Max Barbashev, Trent Ballentyne and Gabe Smith.

The 2022-2023 regular season saw the Wildcats claim 2nd in the Maritime Division and 3rd in the Eastern Conference. In the first playoff round, the Wildcats eliminated Baie Comeau in a thrilling 7-game series, which featured a QMJHL playoff record five overtime games!
