The Wildcats were back on home ice tonight for the first time in their second round QMJHL playoff series against the Armada. Both teams took to the ice pre-game this evening to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragic bus accent last week in Saskatchewan, standing as one sending our thoughts and prayers to the families, players and Humboldt community. After two tough road losses the Wildcats were looking to slow down the first place Armada, unfortunatley Blainville took the win and now lead this series 3-0.
Tonight was a tough one for your Wildcats with the Armada dominating the scoreboard and the shot clock for the full 60 minutes. Blainville scored seven in a row before the Wildcats would break Mikhail Denisov’s shutout on a goal by Justin Lazure for his first of the playoffs in the final minute of regulation time. Blainville’s goals went to: Alexandre Alain, Alexander Katerinakis, Drake Batherson, Joël Teasdale, Anthony Poulin, Alex Barré-Boulet and Mathieu Boissonneault. The Armada outshot Moncton 37-14 in the win.
The Wildcats are back on home ice tomorrow for game four at 7:00 p.m. Get your tickets at 857-4100 or online at tickets.moncton.ca
