Jordan Spence scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in a 3-1 loss to the Saint John Sea Dogs, Wednesday at TD Station.

The home side scored the only goal of the first period less than three minutes into the game and carried a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

There was further scoring until midway through the third period when the Sea Dogs doubled their lead to 2-0.

Spence’s goal came with ninety seconds remaining and Moncton’s net empty.

The Summerside product took a pass in the high slot and blasted a slap shot toward the net that was deflected past Saint John goalie Zachary Bouthillier.

But the Sea Dogs wrapped up the scoring with an empty-netter with 1:05 remaining.

Charles-Antoine Lavallee made 24 stops in a losing cause. Bouthillier was named first star with 43 stops.
